On our matching platforms Eet Mee and Students For Dinner, you can register for free, create an account, and organize your own dinner online, or register as a guest for a dinner that’s already online. Finding this difficult? Let us know; our matchmakers are happy to help.
Do you live in Utrecht or the surrounding area? Then you can also host a dinner for refugees from Utrecht’s emergency shelter through Come & Eat. Or invite Utrecht refugees with refugee status through Taal Aan Tafel. Our matchmakers will then make a match for you.
The Matching Platforms – How They Work
Choosing a Platform and Creating an Account
Choose the right platform: Students go to Students For Dinner. Create an account there and enter your personal details, address, and contact information, as well as a short biography. Indicate whether you’d like to participate as a dinner host, a guest, or both. Only after a dinner match has been made will the required contact and address information be visible to the other dinner participants.

Organise a dinner
In your account, choose a theme group (read more about this further down on this page), a dinner date and time, the number of guests, indicate whether you’ll be cooking vegetarian, and any other preferences and options. Post your dinner online so that our guests can see it. From the registrations, select the people you actually want to invite. The platform will handle the information exchange. Contact your guests immediately to discuss any final details (such as what they won’t be eating).
Join us as a guest
Register for a cozy dinner party listed online. Make sure you fit the dinner party’s profile. Save the date. You’ll receive a message immediately after the registration deadline to let you know if you can join us or if it’s not possible that time. If you can’t make the dinner date, cancel as soon as you know. This way, someone else can join the dinner. Please let us know beforehand what you won’t be eating.

You can organise a dinner party on the platform or register as a guest for a dinner party in one of the following theme groups. Some are active year-round, while others (holidays, Sint Maarten) are only available for a short period.

Do you have any special preferences for your dining companions besides a specific age group, food preference, language, and number of guests? And do you, as a guest, also enjoy sitting at the table with a wide range of people? Then organise your dinners in this group, with dinners for everyone, without a specific target group or specific theme.
Ukrainians at the Table
Do you want to invite Ukrainians to dinner and offer them the opportunity to learn more about Dutch culture and society, build a social network, and get to know their culture? Or are you, as a Ukrainian, eager to share a meal with a group that wants to help Ukrainians? Then make your matches through this theme group.
Taal Aan Tafel
Do you want to improve your Dutch or help someone else with it? A cozy dinner party is the perfect opportunity. Register as a dining companion or guest. When dining, always choose a limited number of guests so you can focus on simple language.
Eet Mee for the Holidays
Many people enjoy sharing a meal with others during Christmas or New Year’s Eve. Do you have one or more free spots at your dining table during the holidays? Then choose this theme group. As a guest, you select the dinners listed online for this theme. Finding it difficult to register online? You can also register by phone at 030-2213498; our matchmakers will be happy to make a match for you.

Are you looking for a regular group to eat with regularly, alternating between group members? Then organise your dinner in this group or join us for a dinner party.
Eet Mee Sint Maarten
Are you called Maarten, Marten, Martine, Tiny, Marthe, or do you have another name derived from Maarten? Do you live on Maartendreef, are you a member of the Martinus parish, was your first boyfriend called Maarten, or do you simply find sharing very important? Organise a cozy dinner in this theme group during the week of November 3rd to 11th, or join us as a guest.
