For Ukrainians and Dutch, we organized a special BBQ at a beautiful location just outside De Bilt: the charming tree nursery and antique greenhouse of Jan Van Vulpen and his partner, artist Eva Zegers.
Over 30 Ukrainian and Dutch guests brought their own vegetables, meat, or fish to grill, along with a side dish for the buffet. There was plenty of sharing, tasting, and laughter. Children roasted marshmallows on the fire, adults exchanged stories and contact information. And as a bonus, there was a wonderful view of three balloons taking off from the neighbor’s house. It was an afternoon full of encounters and connection – exactly what Eet Mee stands for.
This BBQ was one of the anniversary dinners celebrating our 15th anniversary.
